The Faculty of Education "Learning Space" is a fit-out of an existing library space in the Faculty of Education. The aim is to facilitate a shift from traditional teaching and instruction to a more informal and collaborative approach. "Learning on display" is the central theme of the design.

Housed in an existing 1960's formal concrete framed building, the design aims to manifest this departure from traditional education methodology by offsetting the new insertion against the rigidity of existing building fabric.

The result is a series of intersecting geometries, creating a series of informal spaces offering varying degrees of interaction and privacy. This approach is reinforced on the ceiling, with the insertion of 'folding' timber panels that both conceal services and satisfy acoustic requirements.
